Oh Sew Perfect is a professional alterations service with locations in Poughkeepsie and Goshen NY.
With over 20 years experience, Holly, owner and seamstress, specializes in bridal gowns, bridesmaids, and mothers gowns right on down to the little wee ones.
All appointments are private, one on one sessions. Its recommended to allow 3-4 months from your first fitting to your last as an ideal timeline to make all the alterations. Keep in mind, most brides meet for 4 fittings depending on what you're having done to the gown.
Don't forget to bring all undergarments, shoes and accessories to your fittings. Its fun and exciting to see how the dress will evolve into the perfect fit and to envision your overall wedding day look.

How Long do you need to alter a wedding gown?
- I LIKE TO START 3 - 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING DATE TO ENSURE WE HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE ALL FITTINGS AND MAKE SURE IT'S PERFECT FOR YOU. LONGER THAN THIS CAN EXPOSE US TO WEIGHT FLUCTUATIONS THAT COULD AFFECT MEASUREMENTS.
HOW MANY FITTINGS WILL I HAVE?
- USUALLY 4 FITTINGS TOTAL. IT COULD BE MORE IF YOUR GOWN NEEDS EXTRA ATTENTION.
FITTING 1 - INTIAL FITTING (1 HR)
FITTING 2 - PULLING THINGS IN, CHECKING HEM/SIDES - THIS IS THE MAJOR FITTING WHERE MOST OF THE ADJUSTMENTS ARE DONE - FITTING 3 - TWEAKING FIT, PINNING UP THE BUSTLE
- FITTING 4 - FINAL FITTING TO MAKE SURE ALL IS GOOD AND BRIDE USUALLY TAKES DRESS HOME AT THE END OF THIS FITTING. THIS IS WHEN FINAL PAYMENTS ARE EXPECTED.

- UNDER GARMENTS, IF YOU PLAN TO WEAR ANY
SHOES AND ACCESSORIES SO YOU CAN SEE THE WHOLE LOOK
HOW IS PAYMENT HANDLED?
- PAYMENT IS EXPECTED AT THE FINAL FITTING. I ACCEPT CASH, VENMO, ZELLE, REQUESTS ACCEPTED BUT NOT GUARANTEED FOR OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT.
